I worked in the basement to get it ready to use today. It took a bit of cleaning but it is done. It is amazing how little we actually have stored in the basement once it is stacked neatly. There is a ton of just garbage cardboard down there that needs to go but that is an easy matter. I got the carpet rolled out (just half of the floor is covered) and got the speakers put into place. We moved the projector down and got the sound system set up. We are projecting about a 110″ image right now while we are testing out the room. It is really cool. We are just using the drywall for a screen for now but we are really looking forward to having a real screen in there. The image should be amazing.

Dan worked on the basement the last three days and today the basement is done, basically. The theatre is done but without the doors. The doors should arrive in a week or so. We ordered acoustic doors to help keep the noise down in the house. So I am sure that we will be happy even with the wait. It is really neat having the theatre there. Now we can finally see what the room is going to be like and start really thinking about what we need to do with it. The ceiling isn’t touched – we can’t really start work on that until we know exactly how everything in the room is going to be. Which is too bad because that will really help to seal that room from the rest of the house. The server alcove is done as well. It turned out really neat. It looks like a real server room with a 6′ x 3′ window looking in on it and everything. The insulated wall is really helping to cut down on the noise levels in the house. It had been getting SO bad. Now we can tell that it is going to be nice in the basement once all the servers are moved into there and the door is put in place.

Min slept this morning because she worked last night. When she got up, we watched some of the new DVDs that we got… As Time Goes By Season Six and Monarch of the Glen Season Two.

Boy is it nice to be home. Now that I own a house, it is that much nicer being home than on the road. I didn’t get to sleep in in the least today, though, because Dan was working in the basement by 7:30 and there is no sleeping through that. I had plenty of work to get started on today anyway, I shouldn’t be sleeping all day.

I went to breakfast with dad this morning. He needed to do some banking for me today and I needed breakfast so it worked out. When we got back it was just time for me to get in the car and drive to Batavia to see the doctor about my foot.

The appointment went well and the doctor thinks that my foot is actually improving, if slowly. So we are keeping on the path that we have been on and hoping that things will continue to improve.

My books for class were in at Borders and Andy had some stuff that he had to do in the city so we drove up to Rochester to run some errands. It has taken six weeks to get this textbook and I am very realived to finally have it. Now I can really get down to wrapping up everything for Empire. Now I just have to motivate myself to do it. I have gotten lazy since I have been waiting for all of the books that I need. But this next trip to DC, I will only take my Empire books and leave myself with nothing else to do but study. Hopefully that will really motivate me.

Dominica decided to come home early and surprise me but, of course, I was in the city and had emailed her at work to tell her so not knowing that she had left already. So she was pretty pissed at me when I got home. Andy and I had a late lunch while we were in the city too. Oops. Well, at least Min is planning on having her cell phone turned back on any day now.

Min didn’t get a lot of time at home tonight, though, because she is working at the hotel. So we hung out for a little while and off to work she went. I ended up staying up really late getting work done on one of the servers and trying to make it so that I will want to sleep in late in the morning because Min will be tired when she gets home.

This morning I got up in time to make it to the last few minutes of the hotel’s continental breakfast. I really need to get myself out of bed early enough to take advantage of free food. I have to pay for it anyway. That would save a lot of money over the time period that I am going to be hanging out down here.

I got into the hospital and spent most of the day working on little things around the office. Min isn’t heading for home until tomorrow afternoon so I am in no hurry to get back home.

I made it out of the office around 3:00 and went over to Ellis Island with John for a little while. He had a really long day and needed a drink. We hung out a little bit and I managed to head out of town around 4:00.

The drive from Washington to Geneseo is really a long one. I am used to the much shorter voyage from Ithaca to Annapolis. But going to Geneseo is almost two hours farther and it is enough to make the trip rather an arduous undertaking. I have some books on CD with me so I listened to them in the car. I listened to the next two books from Janet Evanovich, “Two for the Dough” and “Three to Get Deadly”. I sure do love murder mysteries on CD. I could probably drive forever as long as I have good books to listen to while I do it.

I got into Geneseo around 1:00am. I got the car partially unpacked and hung out with the Loopster until about 2:00am. Work was started on the basement today and the beginnings of walls are starting to appear down there. It is weird to imagine having actual rooms in my basement. We picked this house because of the basement but that was so long ago and it never seemed like it was really going to happen. But it is happening now. Very cool. By the time I finally got to bed, I was really tired.

I slept in very late today. The medicine I am on is really making me tired. John called early this afternoon but I didn’t even hear the phone. I am pretty much dead to the world. I didn’t get up until like 1:30. I got ready to leave and ran out to get some lunch and to pick up a few things over at Borders next door. I got a great haul today. Two new books on CD (Janet Evanovich murder mysteries) and a bunch of bargain books.

After shopping I headed over to John and Michelle’s on Deep Creek. We hung out for the afternoon. We were all very tired. It is so hot out today that no one can really stand to be outside. I sure can’t.

I got to go out on the boat (Das Boot) a little bit today. It is my first time being out on the boat now that it is in the water.

Before going to bed, John and I watched the incredible movie Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. You haven’t seen a good movie until you have seen this.
