Min, Dad and I went up to the city this morning to run some errands. Dad needed to go up so Min and I tagged along. We did a little shopping and little banking and then we went to lunch with Eric at Jay’s Diner. We ended up spending hours at lunch! Min and I didn’t end up getting back home until almost 4:00. It was mostly another really slow day today. I have been diligent at doing the updates now for a couple of days but nothing has been happening so these must be the most boring updates ever. Andy is coming home this evening. He called a few hours ago from Philly to say that he was in transit. We expect to see him around 11:00 or so.

Min has to work tonight. She is scheduled to work on all the holidays this year. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years! She has to work tomorrow night too. It makes for a very hectic season. While she was relaxing before Min went to work, we watched Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. I don’t think that I like this movie very much. I don’t appreciate media that justifies evil in society. I think that it is an abuse of the power of the media. This movie, while not totally making it look alright, spends too much time justifying the actions of a drug addicted child abuser. We have now watched 1,930 shows on LD and DVD. The average cost per view is down to just $5.14. Ok, ok, I know no one cares but me but I am obsessed so get over it. I am thinking about taking some classes on cinema and trying to teach occasionally. I think teaching cinema would be a lot of fun. I have tons of experience (if reading lots of books makes you an English teacher.) I have a personal collection that I could use for my classes so that might work out well. GCC offers cinema classes and that would be a nice environment to teach in.

Danielle and Michael came over this morning. Min and I watched Michael while Danielle went to his parent teacher conference. Michael watched some movies and played some video games. Oh to be young again. Oh, wait, that is what I do everyday! LOL Danielle and I were supposed to go out doing sales today but I was running too late so we decided that it would be better to wait until next week. I might go to DC next week to tie up some stuff but we will wait to see about that. If I go down, it will only be for a couple of days.

This morning I discovered mouse number seventeen in the kitchen. Min and I took him with us when we drove to Batavia for my doctor’s appointment. We are dropping mice off all over the countryside. Dad says that we are strengthening the gene pool of the mice outside of Geneseo. We had lunch in Batavia after my appointment.

Dominica went out today and got her fair cut really short. I worked at home most of the day. Mostly productive, more than usual. It is really nice to have so much of the office done downstairs. Having the shelves in place is really helping things. I have been able to put away four or five plastic totes of stuff that we have had stored and that has really cleared up some space in the basement.

Andy is coming home on Wednesday. He is coming home for Thanksgiving. He has to go back on Sunday so it will be a very short visit. It will be nice to have him home for a little bit. We start to forget what it is like to have someone around. This evening, Min and I watched more of Faulty Towers. Min really likes the series.

Sunday. Min and I actually managed to get up this morning and make it to LaGrange for church. Our first time in weeks. After church we went over to dad’s and we all went out to lunch at the diner in Texaco town. We had to drop off dad’s car at the shop in Pavilion. After lunch, we came back home to meet Art, Danielle and Michael. Art and I got to work in the basement. Art worked on the electrical in the office in the basement while I worked at rearranging the shelving units. We got them moved into more or less the positions where they will be when we finish the basement. We got the bookshelves back up so that I could start putting books onto the shelves which is really important since I have been unable to use any of my books for months since they have all been packed up into plastic totes. It is really nice to have access to them again. I forgot how many books I had.

Danielle cooked dinner and brought it over. It was nice to be able to eat at home. After Art and Danielle went home, Min and I watched Fawlty Towers that we picked up last night. I am not a huge fan of Fawlty Towers, it is okay, but not up to par with a lot of the shows that we have been watching. Min really likes it. We were surprised to learn that there were only ever twelve episodes of the show ever made. So many famous British shows were so short lived. We are used to American television shows running for years and years if they are popular. But in England, they often write a set number of shows and the show is simply done when they have exhausted the idea. It is nice because the show doesn’t linger on after it is no longer interesting.

SUSE Linux 9.0 was released for download today. I started downloading it this afternoon from the Suiss mirrors because the American ones didn’t have it yet. It is a 7 GB download so it will take a very long time.

I captured our sixteenth mouse today. It was caught in the trap on my desk in my office.

Saturday. Min, Jeremy and I all slept in quite late this morning. My Uncle Leo actually came to the house and knocked on the door and rang the door bell and none of us woke up. Min and I headed straight out to go to Frankfort to take Dexter back home. It has been really nice having Dexter here for an entire week. It was very comforting to have a little puppy in the house.

We dropped Dexter off and went out to dinner in Herkimer. After dinner, Min and I headed back to Geneseo. We stopped at Barnes and Nobles in New Hartford on the way and picked up the complete Fawlty Towers on DVD as well as some books. I got a really exciting book about the Mongol invasion of Europe in 1218 AD.

Mouse number fifteen was caught in the kitchen this morning.
