September 4, 2003: TODAY IS ONE MONTH UNTIL SCOTT AND DOMINICA’S WEDDING!

And the countdown has officially begun.

Well, Niagara Telecom, Inc. joined the Livingston County Chamber of Commerce yesterday. Hopefully that will help us generate some business here in the local area. We are going to be joining the Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce in January when they take submissions again.

Min got in at her usual 9:30 in the morning and was pretty exhausted. Andy took the day off of work. He is having a hard time dealing with the amount of stress that this job has associated with it. I talked to Jonathan Stagno this morning. He is going to be coming up for the wedding in October.

Well, all the teachers are back to work today. Fun fun fun. I worked from home today and Min worked on wedding stuff before she had to go to work at the hotel this evening. I decided that in celebration of the beginning of the school year, I would add something cute to the site. So (I think that Min and Francesca will get the biggest kicks out of this) here is my official Smurf Meter.

Brainy Smurf

You can click on the image of Brainy Smurf to go and find out what kind of a Smurf you are. I thought that that was very entertaining. I need more sleep, I guess.

I have been working on getting an Internet Radio server up and running for forever and finally got that taken care of this evening. What a pain that has been. I have been working on this server for a month trying to get the latest and greatest radio server technology running and it turns out that the latest version of the software is buggy and you HAVE to use the old one. What a pain. So once I switched back to trying to use the old software, everything worked in no time. Well, it is a big relief to have that taken care of anyway. If you want to check it out (I even have this one working with Window’s Media Player AND Zinf, then you should be able to just head on over to Steve’s Internet Radio Station and check it out. If that doesn’t work, then just try typing http://66.95.91.71:8000 into the URL field of any stream player. And yes, that means that this works fine on your way cool Sharp Zaurus as well.

Not a lot of news to report to day so I will keep the update short and sweet. I am going to bed early knowing that I have accomplished much. Take care everyone.

September 2, 2003

Min and I didn’t get to bed until very late because we were up printing and cutting papers. We finished up around 4:00 am. We woke up this morning around 9:30, shortly before Danielle arrived to work on all of those papers. The three of us spent the morning working on all of the papers for the York PTA. Michael was very excited to be able to play Nintendo Game Cube for a good portion of the day. He played Wave Racer, Simpsons Road Rage and Star Wars Rogue Squandron 2.

I got a lot of work done here at the house today. I spent a lot of the day on the phone. I am working on repairing a computer that was shipped here from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. It was apparently infected by a virus or worm but no documentation of such was given to me so I don’t have a really good indicator of what is going on with the computer. I have updated tons of files on the computer and have been running a number of different anti-virus packages trying to determine what is wrong with the computer.

I did some additional work on ScottAndDominica.com today and now the online RSVP is available so that you can just send the confirmation right from there. For those of you who have been concerned that you have not yet received an invitation, don’t despair… Dominica is just getting many of the invites out tomorrow and there are plenty (especially of my friends whose addresses I don’t have) whom are not ready to be sent out at all.

Andy and Nolan finally talked to each other tonight for a couple of minutes but not much was accomplished. School starts tomorrow. But Nate, Bob and Zach had to be at school today to get ready.

September 1, 2003

Well, I am starting to get caught up with web site work that I needed to do. It is nice that today is a holiday and the weather is cool too. A little bit of rain today. Min turned on Series Four of “As Time Goes By” and we watched that while she worked on the weeks menu and I worked on my laptop. For example, this site is more or less up to date.

On September 10, Andy, Dad and I are going to go to the theatre at MCC in Rochester to see Steve Wozniak (the co-founder of Apple Computers) speak for Apple’s 25th Anniversary. If anyone is interested in going to see him with us, you can get yourself some tickets here. The show should be really interesting. I am also going to see a Microsoft show the week after as well. Microsoft puts on some pretty good shows. And they give away some really good stuff at them too.

It was nice to have the day at home without anything major going on. I spent most of the day camped out on the couch working on the computer and watching “As Time Goes By”. Dominica decided to make today a food day. She went shopping at Wegmans after she whipped up her week of menus. After she got back she started baking a peach tart.

My parents came over this evening because mom and I had work that had to be done. After working for about an hour, my parents, Andy, Min and I went out to the Villa Carlo for some dinner. As always, it was delicious. While we were at the restaurant, Nate called from Perry and stopped by to hang out for a little while. He met us at the restaurant and then drove my Mazda over to the house since he hasn’t had a chance to even be in the car yet. My parents came back to the house for a little while and we all hung out and had some of Min’s peach tart for dessert. It was really good.

It turned out that Min and I had some printing work that needed to be done for Danielle by early in the morning. Min needed me to get my parent’s paper cutter so I packed up the car with the rest of the trash and garbage in the garage that hadn’t been taken over to burn yet and drove it over to my parents’ so that I could burn it. It has been raining all day and it didn’t stop for me so I parked the car (it is now the pitch black of night) so that the headlights shone across the burning area so that I could start the fire. I got the fire going in the rain and then picked up the paper cutter and headed back to Geneseo. I got back around 11:30.

Min had been printing stuff out all the time that I was gone and when I got back we worked on the printing together (it required both printing and cutting 2,000 pages) while we watched “As Time Goes By” Series 5. We didn’t end up going to bed until after 3:00 am.

I did just a little bit of work to ScottAndDominica.com. I haven’t gotten much work done on the site but at least there is a little bit there now. There are links to hotels and inns on there now.

August 31, 2003

Min and I actually managed to get up early this morning and actually made it out to church. We actually managed to beet my parents to church. That never happens. After church Min and I headed down to Leicester to visit with my relatives from Ohio that didn’t already head back home. We hung out for a couple of hours and then drove up to Mt. Morris to get a late lunch at Brian’s USA Diner. The food was good but they didn’t have much for us to eat. To many restaurants in this area don’t offer anything without meat in it. But the place was pleasent anyway.

After lunch we came back home and I took a much needed nap for a few hours and Min started going through all of the new stuff from the bridal shower. There is so much nice stuff. Min also made a pot of coffee from our new Cuisinart Combo coffee grinder and maker. It is really cool because it grinds your coffee and then makes it all at once. For those of us who are pretty hardcore coffee drinkers, it is perfect.

After my nap I got up and started working. Min and Andy went out to McDonalds for dinner. After they got back (it takes forever for fast food in this town – it is almost like being in the south) we popped in Father Ted Series Three and watched it the whole way through. That is just the funniest show ever. After the show was over, Min and Andy went to bed but I finished watched the Godfather Trilogy. I had never seen the entire trilogy before so it was really nice to get to see the whole thing. I am really glad that I own it.

Speaking of amazing movie trilogies… Once Upon A Time In Mexico or El Mariachi III is releasing to theatres on September 12! No one has called around yet to tell me what the plans are for the gang but I am assuming that we are all going to be going to someone’s house to watch El Mariachi and Desperado prior to the trip to the theatre. I would say that we should do it here but since we don’t have any kind of stereo or surround sound hooked up so it is a little bit flat watching a movie here. And there isn’t much room. But if no one else is able to host, everyone is welcome to come here. Phil and I have been waiting for almost ten years for EM3 to release so this is a really big deal. And Antonio Banderas, Selma Hayak, Johnnie Depp, Willem Dafoe and Johnny Trejo are all in it.

I have finally got a website up for the wedding. You will notice the presence of a new button in the menu on the left. There isn’t much there yet but at least there is something and there is a place for people to go to to get information about the wedding. I will be adding the RSVP system shortly (or so I say.) At least I am catching up on this site too.
