Today is our last day to play with the kids. We got up and packed early and then drove out to Utica so that we could all see Finding Nemo which turned out to be a pretty good movie. I tend to like the Pixar films but I think that this might be my favorite one (beating out Toy Story.) The movie was a lot longer than I had expected it to be, it was like a full two hours. The story really takes a while to develop.

As soon as the movie was over, Min and I had to hit the road. Today is a really busy driving day. We drove from Utica to Ithaca and arrived in Ithaca at 4pm. We did some packing and loaded both Min’s car and my mom’s car. Min did some packing for me while I took a shower and then we each hit the road seperately heading west to my parent’s house. I think that this is only the second time ever that we will have been at both of our parent’s homes on the same day. We drove straight from my parent’s house to Min’s parent’s house once and it took just over three hours of drive time. So it was pretty late by the time that we got to my parents and we really had almost no time to stay. We unloaded the stuff that we had packed and left mom’s Regal behind and headed for the city in Min’s car.

We first went to Chris and Shawnda’s apartment because Chris had picked up Min’s real estate book for her on Friday night. Min has to read four chapters to be prepared for tomorrow’s class so she has a really busy night. Then we drove over to where the class is supposed to be at so that she would have an easier time finding it in the morning (early morning, she has to be on the road around 7:00 am which is pretty early for her.) Then I showed her where the Wellesley Inn was located (in the same parking lot) because I am staying there tonight.

After orienting Min to the area, we then drove in search of Phil and Kate’s new apartment which is nearby because Min is staying with them tonight so that it is easier for her to get to her class in the morning. Her class is 45 hours long and she has to go for eight hours a day all week and then an additional five hours on Saturday and then has to return to take the test at the end which is really a nuisance.

Phil then carted me up to the Distillery where I met up with John and had a light dinner before making an early night of it. John and I are staying at the Wellesley. The same Wellesley that Andy, Phil and I used to work at almost four years ago.

Believe it or not, today is another busy day. What a week ahead I have! This morning I got up and got some work done at home before having a telephone interview at 10:00. The interview was really short and I am sure that I am not what they are looking for.

I was planning on having lunch with Sue Brink from CTG down in Endicott today but she ended up being busy and wasn’t able to make it, which is probably best because I have no time today anyway.

This morning I called on a new potential customer just down the street from my house and ended up walking down there to discuss project with them. It made for a good start to the morning. I ordered a new computer for my mom this morning too. She is getting a Compaq d330 Mini-Tower Pentium IV 256MB. It should be in in less than a week. My new client ended up ordering the same computer as well. So the Computing Center is really loving me this morning.

Tim Stedman, our long lost roomate, came over and met me for lunch today. We always talk about doing lunch but only manage to pull off actually doing it about once every two to three months. Tim and I drove down to the Bistro Q for lunch. Boy do they have a good lunch. We sat around and had appetizers for a while to kill time until Min could join us. She got there a little after 1:30 and then we ordered real food. Lunch was great. Bistro Q always delivers.

After lunch, Tim ended up hanging out most of the day. Tim didn’t leave the house until after 4:00. We had a good time.

Today, I decided, that I needed to take some time off and relax because life was just getting to be too stressful. So I worked in the morning and got done what I really needed to have gotten done and then decided to take it easy. I watched the last ten minutes or so of Anna and the King which I didn’t get to finish yesterday and then I watched the wacky Canadian comedy Men with Brooms. It was pretty good. Nothing classic but it was cute and had a pretty good story. But it is really weird (but what can you expect from a movie and ice sweepers 🙂 After that I watched one of my favorite television shows ever, Couping. Bob managed to come home and join me for the last half of episode three and he is hooked on it now. I had some wine from Casa Larga while I was watching. Min, Francesca and the girls got to the house just as the show was finished and we went to FedEx to send out some stuff that needed to be mailed and then we went out for dinner at Friendly’s.

After dinner, Min and I came home and just relaxed. Later on Bob, Min and I sat down and watched the same episodes of Coupling that I had just watched but that is okay because it is a great show.

I talked to the long lost Tim Stedman today and we are planning on doing lunch tomorrow. That will be good because we have a stack of his mail and none of us remember what he looks like anymore!
