Ok, ok, time to announce the big news… I know that you have all been totally waiting and are all ready to kill me for not telling you yet… So here it is…

Scott and Dominica's Wedding Banner by Loopy

Scott and Dominica are getting married!

The updates from the weekend have been posted so that everyone can see how it all happened.

Over the course of the next couple of days, we will be putting together a seperate web site that will be used for all of the wedding announcements and the RSVP form. That way, everything will be in one place to make it that much easier for everyone to find out what, when and where. Currently, it is looking like the wedding will be happening in the Greater Geneseo area since we will be living around there at that time and for a million other reasons. But don’t be too sure just yet.

So keep watching for the latest news. I will add a button on the menu here to make it even easier to get to the new wedding site once it is up. We are hoping to be able to do a live webcast of the wedding too, but we won’t know for sure whether or not we can pull that off until much closer to the actual wedding. It would be really cool, though, if we were able to. We want everyone to be able to be there with us, even if just in their electronic personas.

I had to cut the update short yesterday due to a terrific rain and hail storm that occurred while I was writing the daily. It was just insane. It has been quite a long time since I got to watch it come down that hard. It was really cool though. It got kind of foggy and everything turned a strange yellow. We had that happen once before while we were living at this house. After the rain slowed, it became so quiet and calm. Amost eerily so.

As soon as the rain was ok, Andy and I headed out for Rochester. We got out there around 11:00 at night and pretty much went straight to bed.

We got up early this morning and headed off to Rochester with my dad to go to the Microsoft show. The show started at 9:00 and went until 12:30 at the Hyatt downtown. We had a good time. Andy and Dad went to the Developer’s part of the show while I went to the Architect’s portion. The break-out sessions were good and I learned a little and they got a bit out of it. The main part of the show, the keynote, was really dumb and Microsoft is obviously not pushing this product to professionals very well. Most everything they did was really targetted at unknowledgable management. Oracle’s show was a lot better. But MS gave out a lot of cool stuff so that made it much better.

After the show, the three of us met up with Eric at Jay’s Diner in Henrietta and had some lunch. Andy and I headed back towards home around 3:30. On the way back, we stopped in Dansville to take a look at the “Castle on the Hill” that Eric has been telling me about. We only had a chance to drive by for a second but it was pretty cool.

It was a long day and Andy and I pretty much just came home and relaxed. I played some Age of Mythology and finally beat it on hard. It was so easy to beat that I thought that I must have set it to easy by mistake. But no, I really crushed it that badly. Hmmm… Maybe I will play it on Titan tomorrow and see what happens.

I know that the weekend is still a secret, I will probably tell everyone what is going on tomorrow. Here is a hint, though…

You will know what it means tomorrow!!

Eric came over to work here today. Loopy, Eric and I sat down and had some fun with Googlism.com. Here are some good ones… Loopy, Poop, Ithaca and Waste Watcher. I had to throw the last one in just because it actually came up with our site’s information first!

Andy had the hiccups all day yesterday and it is looking like he is going to have them all day again today. He is in rough shape. Andy and I are driving out to my parent’s house tonight because we are going to the Microsoft Windows 2003 launch event tomorrow early in the morning in Rochester and it just seemed easier to go out there early.

Andy got a job today doing some VB programming for Carrier Corp up in Syracuse. It is just a six week contract but at least it will keep him busy until almost July when it will be time for us to move.

I would write more updates but there is a huge storm and I need to turn off the computer for the evening. Talk to you all later.

If you are looking for something funny on the web, try looking at Googlism.com. Googlism takes informatin from Google.com and translates it into compiled information. It is really funny. Here is the Googlism site for Sheep Guarding Llama. Loopy discovered this today and we thought that it was pretty funny.

I spent some time today getting my Sharp Zaurus back up to speed again. I haven’t been using it in a while and I needed to reinstall some software on it so that I could use it effectively again.

I accidentally let SGL expire but was able to catch it tonight and get it again for another year. That was a close one. DominicaTocco.com is gone for good now, though. So anyone using that email address be sure to change it to one of the other ones like SheepGuardingLlama or NiagaraTelecom.com. Those won’t be going anywhere for a long, long time.

So, Loopy found one of the funniest things ever on the Internet. The entire Star Wars movie made from animated ASCII art. This is one of the best things I have ever seen. Check out the ASCII Star Wars Movie. Don’t ever underestimate the power of ASCII and Telnet again.

Lots of links in the page today!
