After having spent the entire day in Rochester yesterday, I had to drive back up today for a short meeting at the University of Rochester. Fun, fun, fun. Eric and I then grabbed lunch and headed for home. I finally finished listening to the last of the Harry Potter books. It was really good. I am anxious, now, for the next book to come out. I read one and three and listen to two and four in the car. The story really is addicting. Eric is even getting hooked on it now.

Slow day in general. I got home middle of the afternoon and decided to relax a little. Dominica and I did dinner at Sangam and went movie shopping. It is so nice having a Borders here in town. They have a nice foreign movie section that I pillaged today. And there is a new Hollywood Video that just opened in front of the mall where they have a good used selection as well. I am very happy. New movies include the following: The Princess and the Warrior from Germany and starring Franka Potente of Run Lola, Run and The Bourne Identity, La Cage Aux Folles which was later remade into The Birdcage, Magnolia, Iron Monkey from Hong Kong, Das Boot: The Director’s Cut and Chungking Express also from Hong Kong. The last film I already owned on LaserDisc but I wanted a DVD copy since I really love that film. Wong-Kar Wai is brilliant.

Today is the big golf tournament at Victor Hills Country Club in Rochester. Dominica isn’t able to play golf because of her back so Stephanie (one of the girls who have moved into the other half of our house) is going to play on the team with Eric, Josh and I. We tee’ed off at 10:00 am and played until 5:00 pm. What a long day. We had a good time though. We didn’t win:) It was fun, there was lunch served all day included in the price of the tournament along with free soda, water and beer and then a steak and chicken dinner. This was the first time for any of us being in a tournament and Stephanie’s first real game of golf although she used to be a Quench Wench for a course in Arizona. After playing all day, Eric headed home and Phil joined us for six more holes at Durand-Eastman County Course on Lake Ontario. DE is one of the earliest examples of Robert Trent Jone’s architecture. RTJ is originally from Rochester and is a graduate of Cornell. It got pretty late so we had to pack it is before we had finished. I can tell that my game is really improving, I am not good yet, but it is really improving.

Nate, Bob and Zach made it out to the Hangar Theatre this evening to see the Sound of Music. I am sure that they were really thrilled since Nate and Bob put on this show at Boynton Middle School already this year.

Eric is up today. Not a lot going on here. We made it out and hit about one hundred balls each at the driving range this afternoon. It was the first time for both of us getting out at all this year. We needed to practice badly today since we are playing in a tournament with Josh tomorrow. We still don’t have a fourth person to play, though, so we need to find one tonight.

Loopy got a chance to play with my new Zaurus yesterday and he was so impressed that he ran out and bought himself one to play with. Look for Loopy to be making some video games on the Zaurus in the near future.

We had a cook out in the driveway with the neighbors today. We fired up the old grill and cooked hot dogs and hamburgers and vegi-burgers for Dominica and I. Dominica is finally admitting that she is a vegetarian now. She has officially been assimmillated {sp}. After the cook out, most of us headed up the fill to set off some fireworks for the coming holiday. We had a small collection of fireworks from a trip to Florida last summer.

I bought a wireless ethernet card for the Zaurus today. It is pretty cool. I have mentioned earlier that we have a wireless ethernet hub in the dining room so that I can use my laptop anywhere in the house or even outside. I check, the laptop works all the way out past the neighbors driveway. Which is pretty cool; it is nice to be able to work outside sometimes. So, now I have a wireless card for the Zaurus which allows me to look at web pages and check my email from anywhere at anytime. Very handy. That may be the feature that I enjoy the most. I was able to get the wireless card at Best Buy. It is a D-Link.
