July 26, 2016: More Walking Dead

Dominica slept in like crazy this morning.  She slept in until almost noon.

Normal day in Frankfort.  Quiet, lots of posting.  Kept busy.

We are on the second season of The Walking Dead now.  It’s getting worse and worse.  I don’t think that I will keep watching it much more.  It’s not well written or acted.  It’s really just annoying and boring.

July 25, 2016: The Walking Dead

Monday.  We are still in Frankfort today.  Thankfully out in Rochester there is rain coming down today which is very much needed.  It has been a drought there all season and there is good rain coming today.

I got a bit of a restful day of writing today as SW had their email service down all day so almost no conversations were going on.

We’ve been watching the Jurassic Park series this weekend.  Tonight we rewatched Jurassic World with the kids.  This is our first time seeing it without the girls freaking out at the drive in.  It was a bit better watching it this year.  The girls handled it much better, too.

Tonight I decided to try watching The Walking Dead on Netflix which Dominica has seen but I have not.  I love the TellTale video game and thought that it would be worth giving it a try.  So far, it’s weak.  It looks like it is just cheap and not very interesting it.  But giving it a try.

July 24, 2016: Relaxing on a Sunday in Frankfort

Sunday in Frankfort.  Dominica and I were the first ones up (other than her parents) and managed to watch several episodes of Stranger Things before the kids were awake.  It’s tough liking so many shows that are not appropriate for the kids to watch.  Getting any time to watch them is almost impossible.

Stranger Things has been growing on us quite a bit.  The story is great and so different from anything that we are used to with a great cast.  The theming from 1983 is so interesting and well done, too.

We took a relaxing day today, mostly shows all day in the living room.  The girls were mostly in a mood to do things on their own.  But Luciana did make me promise yesterday that I would play Minecraft with her first thing this morning when she got up.  So we put on The Andy Griffith Show and played  Minecraft for a few hours together.

Dominica and I went out and did grocery shopping today while the kids stayed at the house.  We had to hit the produce stand, then Aldi’s and finally Walmart in Herkimer.  It was a lot of shopping.

I watched the B movie Apocalypse Earth with Luciana today.  It was not very good.

After dinner, Dominica’s parents took the girls out for an outing to a playground at the marina.  While they were out Dominica and I managed to finish the first season of Stranger Things.  It ended well and we are looking forward to the second season.  Netflix makes really great shows.

Dominica and I watched Borgen, also known as “The Wave” in English, too.  It was quite good, I think.  It is rather like a Norwegian version of San Andreas.

This evening with Luciana, I watched Disney’s Teen Beach Movie 2 which Luciana ended up loving.  She really wanted to watch the first tone, but Netflix no longer has it and she is very sad about that.   The first one was way better than the second one, but the second one had an interesting plot twist and ended strongly.

July 23, 201: Stranger Things and Jurassic Park

It’s the weekend.  Today Dominica and I started working our way through the new Netflix miniseries Stranger Things.  It is a bit on the scary side so we were not able to watch very much of it as we were only able to watch it at times when the kids were otherwise engages in the other room, which they were for a few hours but only a few.

This afternoon Luciana and Dominica’s dad joined us and we watched a “not very good” Jurassic Park marathon of The Lost World: Jurassic Park 2 and Jurassic Park 3.  None of them are very good, but none of us have watched them in many, many years.  Possibly not since they were originally released in something like 1997 and 2003.    While not very good, they were not that bad being a bit nostalgic and Luciana seemed to enjoy them.  They are not nearly as scary or intense as the original movie nor the recent fourth entry in the series, which she mostly slept through last summer when we watched it at the drive in in Perry with my dad.  Dominica’s dad even made popcorn for the occasion.

It was a pretty relaxing Saturday and we called it an early day when it was all done.

July 22, 2016: Back to Frankfort

Friday.  Did posting and writing this morning, then we drove out to Frankfort this afternoon.  We stopped at Nicky Doodle’s to get ice cream tonight and took pictures to send to Francesca to remind her that we can still get great ice cream.
