Sheep Guarding Llama

My call yesterday actually turned out to have gone really well and it looks like I am going to have to be in Chicago in a few weeks.  I haven’t had to do travel for something like this in, well let’s just say a very, very long time.  This is a change, for sure.

We were home today, not much going on.  Trying to get stuff done around the house.  I am getting backlogged with work which is not good.  I just keep falling behind.  It is really frustrating.

This afternoon I went to Subway and got us dinner.  We really should not be eating Subway with all of that bread but we have both really been craving it lately.

Today was a super busy day.  This morning I worked from home for a while and then had a phone interview that went, surprisingly well.  I only do about one real interview a year as I haven’t been on the job market in forever and really do not have very much interest in finding anything new but, everyone once in a while, something comes up that is at least worth discussing.

It was nearly lunchtime by the time that I was free so I went to Redneck and met Dan there for lunch then went into the office for the afternoon from there.

This evening had originally been “guy’s night” to go out for drinks with Watson and Andrew.  Andrew bailed on us, though, and Kayla ended up being available to watch the girls so Dominica came out with us.  Chris made it out too so we all went to Redneck and hung out for the evening.  Chris and Dominica wanted to go out dancing later but I knew that if we tried to do that that we would end up spending the night driving between places and never making it anywhere in particular.

It was a fun evening.  Nice that Kayla was free so that Dominica and I actually got to go out together for a change.

It’s Thursday, one week since I got home from SpiceWorld, Austin.  I was in the office today.  Nothing exciting.  I am way behind on SGL again.  I just can’t believe how busy I have been.  I keep thinking that I am about to manage to catch up and then, suddenly, I am a month behind and don’t even realize it. I feel like I almost never get any time to spend with the girls, I am always trying to catch up on something.

Tonight was dancing at Brickhouse in Arlington.  We try to do that whenever possible.  It is really hard for us to get out there but we are doing well with the dancing.  It is great exercise and a lot of fun.  We are really making progress.

Still catching up from being away most of last week.    SGL is way behind.  I’m working from old records trying to figure out what I was doing this day.  From my calendar and from FourSquare it looks like a quite day.  I believe that I was working from home today.  Obviously nothing too memorable!

I got up too late to go to the gym today but early enough to get into work quite early.

Today Luciana finally got good enough with the remote that she took it from Liesl, stopped the movie that she was watching, navigated through Netflix on the PlayStation 3 and selected the Fresh Beat Band, her favourite show, and started watching that!  I can’t believe that she is able to do that already.  I can barely do that myself.  I think that she learns extra quickly on that because she watches Liesl and knows that it is a task that she can do too.

Uneventful day overall.  That’s good because last week was quite eventful.
