Sheep Guarding Llama

It’s the weekend but everyone is pretty sick.  Today Art began working on replacing the carpets in the house with the laminate.  He got the playroom done and a little beyond that.  The new floor looks really awesome.  I am really impressed by how good it looks now that I am seeing it on the floor.  I can tell that I am going to miss the carpeting, I am a carpeting guy in general, but the new laminate looks way better than the old carpeting and is going to be so much easier to keep clean.  I am excited.  I really didn’t think that it was going to be this bright or look this classy.  This is going to be a major upgrade to the house and really add some value.

Art got the wall at the back of the bar torn out and replaced yesterday.  The old wall was in horrible shape so it is a really good thing that that got done.  It was ready to collapse.  The new wall with the big new windows is awesome.  So much more light coming into the house now, it really makes the living room pop.  And we can open the windows now so that we get air from that direction.  This is great.  I am so glad that we decided to get new windows.

The Grices came up today to go to Six Flags for the weekend but we only saw them for maybe an hour or less.  We will see them for a few minutes tomorrow when they stop by to pick up Liesl and Luciana to take them down to Houston for most of the week.

Back at work today.  Everyone is pretty under the weather at home.  Something has been going around and no one is feeling up to par.  Everyone is at different stages.  Dominica and Luciana are just getting over it, Liesl is starting to not feel well.  I’ve been up and down but mostly okay.

Had another meeting with Cbeyond this afternoon and it looks like we are all set for the meeting on Sunday evening.

This is going to be a busy weekend, tons to get done before the Sunday event and then off to Austin on Monday!

Went to work today but headed over to Sfuzzi at lunch to meet up with Danielle and Jenn.  We had a nice lunch, I’m always happy with their eggplant parm, it is some of the best that I have ever had.  The weather was great so we sat outside today.

I had a quick phone meeting with CBeyond today.  We are working on getting things squared away so that they can sponsor the SpiceCorps event that we have going on this weekend.  There was quite some confusion about that and we are in a panic to try to get that all cleared up and everything organized.  I have another meeting with them tomorrow.

Back to work this afternoon.

In the office again today.  I’ll be in all the rest of this week as I am out pretty much all of next week because of SpiceWorld in Austin.  We leave Monday and I don’t get back to the DFW until Thursday afternoon.  And that is after this weekend the Grices are in town.  It is one crazy week.

Dan, Doue and I went out for lunch today.  We had a good time.  We’ve been trying to schedule lunch together for weeks.  It takes a miracle to get Doue to make it anywhere.

This evening, as soon as I got home from work, Dominica and Danielle ran off to go shopping in Lewisville.  They were hitting the thrift shops that are abundant up there.

Woke up at three this morning.  I tried laying in bed for a while but it wasn’t long before that got old.  So I got up and went to the office, very quietly and got about two and a half hours of work in at the house before heading out to the gym at Brookhaven for my morning workout.

Not a bad workout today but I cut it short as I am not feeling all that well today.  Just some lifting and a forty minute elliptical workout.  Then shower and in to the office.

I was in the office early but it was still a busy day.  I am doing really well at catching up on my emails, though, and I am very happy about that.  An empty mailbox makes me happy and efficient.

I went home at lunch and Chris came over too and met Danielle and Art for the first time.  We put in two hours working there and they stayed to work and I went back to the office.  He stayed and worked long after I had gone back to the office.  They were there all afternoon.  A productive day.

As soon as I got home from work this evening we all drove down to Brookhaven for kids’ night.  We sat outside and enjoyed the weather.  It is warm enough to be out in the evening without a jacket, but just barely.  The firepits were going but we didn’t need to be close to one.  The girls were able to run around most of the evening as there were not too many people eating outside.  It was a nice change for them.

After dinner, home to put the girls to bed and a relatively early night for everyone.  I was up later working, as usual, in the office.

Some construction has begun on the house.  The bar wall isn’t out yet but the cabinets are and Art has been looking into the wall to get a feel for what to do tomorrow.  Tomorrow the wall itself will be gone.
