Sheep Guarding Llama

Another quiet weekend day at home.  Today is Sunday and I am home for work all day.  So I was able to relax much of the day and play Mass Effect 3.

Saturday.  My weekend coverage weekend for the office is this weekend.  How many times can I say weekend in one sentence?  Three.  This is perfect timing since the family is not here so I can get my work out of the way while I am home alone rather than while they are here.

There was not all that much work to do today so I got plenty of time to relax and get some stuff down around the house.  Although I actually did very little of that.  What I actually did mostly was play Mass Effect.  Making good progress in the game.  Mass Effect 3 is really awesome.

I got to talk to Liesl via FaceTime today.  What a lifesaver that is.  With FaceTime Liesl will hold the iPhone and talk to me for hours.  She is so cute.  Sadly Luciana is not big enough yet to know what to do with the iPhone.  She can kind of tell that I am there but doesn’t know how to stay on camera and can’t talk to me.  Liesl knows to talk and hold the phone and show me stuff.  This is the best invention ever.

It’s Friday.

I’m far behind and putting in placeholders so that I can get somewhat caught up.

This evening Dan and I went to La Cima for happy hour.  We hung out there most of the evening.  He starts a week long vacation today so was not in a hurry to get home.  We enjoy the happy hour snacks which were so good that we didn’t need dinner.  Awesome spring rolls, great cheese, hummus too.

It was completely dead up at La Cima.  One of the slowest nights that I have seen.

I found out tonight that the family is staying New York for another week.  Rather than coming home next week they are coming home the week following.  I am very depressed.

I was back in the office today.  It is Thursday but feels like a Monday after my mid-week two days at home.

Today the family all went to Enchanted Forest Water Safari in the Adirondacks.  I got to see some really cute videos that Diane took and put up on Facebook.  I miss the good stuff 🙁  Liesl and Luciana look like they had a lot of fun.  Dominica got way too much sun and her back is really badly burned.

After being at the park all day everyone went up to the mountains to stay at Diane’s house out of contact.  So I heard very little from them tonight since they are out of contact out there.

Today was set aside for me to do nothing.  I have to work this coming weekend so in some ways today is my weekend.  I set up in the play room with the lounge chair moved directly in front of the television, end table sitting beside me with the Folio 13 sitting on it and got to work.  There is a ton of Mass Effect left to go and I need to work through it all.  I want to get this game done before my family returns to Texas.

My day was a good one, did almost nothing all day.  Just sat in the lounge chair and played Mass Effect 2 and drank Red Stag Honey Tea.

I did not manage to finish the game but I made an incredible amount of progress and am very near to the end.  I have just the “final trigger” to go which will trigger me to finish the game.  I expect several hours of gameplay remain, but I am nearing the final stretch in which I will have very few choices to make, or so I anticipate.

The family was at the regular Fourth of July Doty family reunion in Waverly, New York.
