June 12, 2011: Sara Visits

Medifast Status: Day 41, Down ~27.5lbs

Another pound down.  This Medifast thing is really working!

Dominica and I tried to do some hard core cleaning this morning but between work emergencies and child issues we never really got to it and before we new it my cousin Sara and her fiancee were at our house to meet Luciana for the first time and to see our new house and hang out with Liesl.

We visited for a while and then we all went out for a late lunch at the Rockfish in Richardson – which seemed especially appropriate.  After lunch they took off and we went out and did some quick shopping before heading back home.

June 10, 2011: Quest for Blood Tests

Medifast Status: Day 39, Down ~26lbs

I stopped to get super cheap gas at the gas station by the house this morning.  The one that Francesca and I discovered having incredibly cheap fuel recently.  Gas was $3.34 per gallon this morning.

I keep hearing from people how gas is going to hit $5 this summer but gas sure seems to be staying pretty affordable.  I don’t foresee even $4 being hit let alone $5.  I think people are generally just hysterical.

I had to run down to Quest Diagnostics this morning to get blood work done for Medifast.  I’ve been quite remiss in getting this done and today I just have to have it done.  I had to cancel a few Medifast trainer appointments already because I was not able to get it done.

It’s been pretty hot here in Texas.  I had a call this afternoon and it was so hot that my sweat kept causing the phone to cut out.  I’m wishing that I owned a car with air conditioning.  Boy would that be nice.

I had a Medifast appointment this afternoon.  They are pretty happy with my progress at this point.  I’m doing well.

On my way home after work, which was pretty late, I picked up Rockfish and brought it home for dinner.  It was after nine when I finally got home with dinner.

June 9, 2011: Trying to Keep Up

Medifast Status: Day 38, Down ~26lbs

I’m keeping my updates short and sweet.  Nearly a month behind on updates now and struggling to get anything posted.  I was in the office today and went to RaceTrac around lunch time to get a refill on my soda.  I’ve gotten Dan addicted to the cheap soda refills as well so we are going every day together sometime during the work day.

Got home at six and had my two hour conference call then spent what time I had left with the family.

June 8, 2011: Dominica’s Checkup

Medifast Status: Day 37, Down ~25lbs

I’ve discovered that RaceTrac has $.49 refills on their 52oz fountain drinks.  This is awesome.  So I am making an effort to stop in every day to take advantage of practically free drinks.  This is way cheap than a little Keurig coffee from home.  And it is cold which is important as my drive is in a car without air conditioning and it is insanely hot in there.

At lunch today I had to go down to Irving to meet up with Dominica, Liesl and Luciana so that Dominica could go to her checkup with her doctor.  The checkup went really quickly and we ended up being able to go to lunch together after the appointment.  Everything is good and she is healing well after having Luciana.

We went to Rockfish for lunch.  Dominica has been loving eating there now that she is not pregnant and can eat fish again.  They had Copper River salmon today which is a special treat at Rockfish so I got that.

After lunch I spent the afternoon working from home.
