June 29, 2018: Last Day in Texas

Friday. Last day at home in Texas. Tomorrow I am getting on the road and driving to New York, or at least starting to. Spent the day working and packing.

This evening, Paul and I went out to Torchy’s Tacos to try it out. It wasn’t bad, but not our favourite. The place was way too crowded. Good taco selection, don’t know how much we are likely to go back, we have lots of potential taco places to go. It did have some decent vegetarian options. Maybe Dominica will want to try it.

June 27, 2018: Joy’s Vacation

This morning started out with a major Slack outage which massively impacted some of our customers. So that made for a pretty dramatic change of pace for the early morning.

My friend Joy left her home in Manila last night and is landing in Australia early this morning. This is her first actual vacation ever. She has never been to another country before. So she is super excited. She is running the Gold Coast Marathon while she is there.

Did some NodeBB maintenance this afternoon.

Some of the team came over to work this evening. We did a sales meeting till after midnight.

June 26, 2018: Ice Cream Run

Tuesday. I am getting closer to being done with my stretch of being without the family down in Texas. I will be heading up to see dad later this week.

Keeping myself very busy as long as I can. Only a few days left. I can keep it up.

This evening while I was working in my office Paul popped in and looked at me and just said… “ice cream?” So we hopped in the truck and drove down to Josey Ranch and went to Braums and got some awesome ice cream for “dinner”, and picked up some groceries to take home.

June 25, 2018: Interview Day

Monday. This morning was busy with normal office work. This early this afternoon I had to run interviews for a while.

This evening, Paul and I went out to check out a local Chinese buffet. It turned out to be really awesome. The food was amazing and the price was not bad at all.

My good friend Joy started her first day as an official Team Lead position today.
