Rocky Dies from Eukenuba Poisoned Pet Food

Rocky, a chihuahua puppy from Chicago, died from eating toxic pet food manufactured by Canadian pet food conglomerate Menu Foods.  Like almost all pets sick or dying from Menu Foods intentional sales of lethal food his death is not being counted because Menu Foods is not taking any responses from customers.  Customers with sick, dying and dead pets are complaining all over the web that there is no way to reach Menu Foods and Menu Foods is taking advantage of the situation to claim that there have been almost no deaths even as almost every American is likely to know firsthand an animal that is affected.

Sheep Guarding Llama has tried first hand to contact Nutro who also sold the tainted pet foods and got a similar response – an automated phone system that hangs up rather than taking a message and an email system that has been disabled.  All, apparently, so that their web site can continue to claim that no animals have been affected by their foods.  A complaint has been filed officially with the FDA and their intentionally blocking of customer reports has been reported to the feds as well.

CBS Reports that Menu Foods Knew of Lethal Pet Food from Feb 20!

CBS News reports this afternoon that Canadian pet food manufacturer Menu Foods knew that their pet food was killing cats and dogs by February 20th but did nothing to save the animals that are now dying.  Menu Foods definitely knew what they were doing and made a conscious decision to sell tainted pet foods to American pet owners.  The company claims that only one dog has died while New Jersey alone has had more dog deaths than that and Menu Foods is known to have killed several of their own test dogs with it almost a month ago.

Oreo Update #5: Oreo on the WNBC News

Oreo on WNBC News for the Menu Foods Pet Food Recall
You can watch Oreo in his television debut.  This is the video that was shot but the WNBC news crew last night at the Rutherford Animal Hospital.  Oreo is the star about halfway through the video.  He was very scared and shaking.  He had not seen us yet.  We were just arriving outside when this video was shot.  We saw the news crew but didn’t get to talk to them ourselves.  This wasn’t his real examination.  He had had that just minutes before but they brought him back out to run through it again since he is so good on camera.

Oreo Update #4

I called the hospital at 9:30 to make plans for Oreo’s return.  They decided that they want to keep him for the entire day for observation and so that they can monitor his fluids more closely.  So the plan is that Dominica will pick him up around 6:00 this evening.  He will have been in the hospital for over twenty-four hours!
