Min is back to work at Keshequa today. She has been off for two weeks because of Spring Break. So it is good that she is back to work again. And it is nice that they called her the very first day too.

I spent the morning working here in the office. We are doing our first warranty claim directly with HP today so I wanted to get the training done on the hardware before calling it in. That wasn’t too big of a deal but there was so much stuff going on today that I barely got a chance to get anything done.

Eric came over for a late lunch and we went over to the Omega Grill. I think that I eat there often enough that they would worry if I missed a day.

Our new Netgear VPN unit arrived today. So I got to play with that a little bit. I need to figure out how to integrate it into our network – we are going to be using it to extend our network. We are going to be doing lots of cool new stuff with this new equipment. And even more cool new stuff later this week when we get our new Proliant 3000 server. I am very excited about getting our new server. Phil is driving me down in his truck to pick it up. Phil is getting a new HP desktop and monitor.

I had to get down to Dansville first thing this morning. A client of ours there had an emergency yesterday and we had to go down today to take care of them. I spent about three hours there this morning. It turned out that it was a hardware issue and we had to deal with warranty replacement.

While I was down working, Min and Kate went to LaGrange Baptist. I managed to get back in time to meet them over at the Omega Grill for some dinner. On the way home, a massive spring thunderstorm hit. There was a tremendous hail storm – I can’t believe the car was seriously damaged, it was pretty major hail. But the car survived just fine.

Busy day today. I was up at a good time this morning. Got straight to work. Tomorrow is a holiday so I have to get work done today (actually I didn’t realize that but Cory reminded me.)

I had a morning meeting with one of the yellow page publishing companies, the one that does the book for Livingston County. We were hoping to do a really big ad but we thought about it and there just aren’t enough potential clients in the area to justify it. So we decided on just putting in a couple of line items. At least people can look us up if they need us.

I was supposed to meet Cory to do some work but I was running late from my morning meeting and missed him. Ended up being a good thing, though, because the day was very busy. The phone never quit ringing all day. But it was mostly good. New orders, new potential projects.

Today I put in a lot of effort into switching the house network over to running exclusively off of the commercial SDSL line instead of the consumer ADSL line. We need to save the money. We all love having two Internet access lines in the house with totally insane speeds and two ways to connect to everything but spending the extra money just isn’t worth it. I really wish that we could keep the extra line, I am really bummed about it. It is also going to be better not having to have a second firewall/web cache running all of the time taking up space, power, a machine and a desk. So it has to be done.

Today was supposed to be pretty slow but it ended up being a pretty busy day. I had to get up early this morning and run up to the city with dad to meet with a client. We got back around 11:00 and rushed to lunch with Min at the Omega Grill. We had to make it really quick though because I had forgotten about a meeting with some of my professors up at ESC. Bob didn’t go to lunch with us because he got up late and was still not feeling very well. I ran home between lunch and college just long enough to see him off.

I had to meet some professors this afternoon. I am getting moving on my classes as quickly as possible. I am going to be doing a ton of Java over the next two months. While I was at school, Min called and said that we had a client have a computer die and that I had to get back and deal with it as quickly as possible. So I had to run. It made for a very busy day.

I got done with work and Eric stopped by to surprise me with an amazing Tripplite UPS unit that he found. It was really cool. Amanda came over and the four of us went over to the Omega Grill for some dinner. Yeah, that is two meals in one day. We love the Omega Grill. After dinner, Danielle and Michael stopped by to pick up some stuff.

Today was the Microsoft show in Rochester. Min and I had to get up early this morning to make it, it is an all day show. We started first thing in the morning with the Touchpoint small business show. Cory went to the Technet show at the same time as that show. After the show Min and I ran over to Jay’s Diner and had a really quick lunch with Eric. We only had a tiny window between seminars so we had to rush.

In the afternoon we had the Microsoft partner show, Cory was there too. We didn’t see him though, he was hiding in the back of the room and I didn’t find out that he was there until later.

We got home just after 5:00. Tonight is Bob’s last night in Geneseo. He is still sick with a cold or fever or something so he took some Advil and the three of us went up to the city to get some dinner. We couldn’t decide where to go so we drove around a little bit and finally decided to stop at the Macaroni Grill. Bob was feeling like Italian tonight and Olive Garden was busy and too normal. It was nice to go to the grill for a change. We had a really good dinner, the food was exceptional.
