November 14, 2017: El Rincon

Tuesday.

I’m scheduled to be traveling to Doha, Qatar a week from tomorrow.  But I have my doubts that they will be able to schedule it, to get the meetings that they claim that they are going to get, or can even afford the plane tickets.  So we will see.  This could easily turn into my month of just waiting to see what happens.  Already waiting a bit, I was supposed to have traveled already.  Lots of “hurry up and wait”.

ML was busy this morning.  Since I now have a week during which time I know that I am not traveling, it was a good morning to get my laptop updated to Fedora 27, so I took care of that while I had the time.

Spiceworks has gotten so belligerent and unprofessional that I’ve had to actively start muting moderators and other high profile people.  It’s become a really unhealthy place full of mean spirited people not trying to help each other but actively trying to hurt one another for fun.  It’s unreal how bad it has gotten and how angry and rotten people have become towards anyone actually trying to do IT or help one another there.  It’s become outright unethical the stuff being promoted, often officially.

We got an offer on our house in New York.  Not high enough for us to accept, but it is our first offer.  Have to start somewhere.

Sean and I went out for drinks this evening.  We went to El Rincon which is in old downtown Carrollton more or less around the corner.  It’s a tequila bar and does some really nice stuff.  It used to be Cafe Azul, also a tequila bar, and this is my first time ever making it in to it.

November 13, 2017: Skyrim with the Kids

Monday.  It’s a holiday today so after a little work writing and posting this morning I spent a bit of the day hanging out with the kids and playing video games.

Both girls played Skyrim quite a bit today.  They have both been really into it for a while, it’s their new favourite game.  Liesl is especially really getting into the solid gameplay.

November 12, 2017: Daddy Daughter Skyrim Day

Sunday.  I got up on the early side today, and didn’t even turn on my desktop.  I made a pot of coffee and fired up Skyrim: Dragonborn in the living room and got right down to some gaming while everyone else was asleep.

The girls came out and joined me in the living room and played Skyrim for the entire day.  We made it a daddy – daughter video gaming Sunday.  The entire day, just the three of us camped out on the sofa in the living room playing Skyrim.  Once they were awake it was them playing all day.  I only got to play a little, early in the morning before they woke up.

Vegetarian Hot Pockets for dinner tonight.

November 11, 2017: Dominica Cuts Her Thumb

Saturday.  Did a whole bunch of SAMIT videos today.  I need to get a backlog of them done and prepped so that I am ready for all of the upcoming holidays, travel to Qatar, and so forth.  It takes a lot of work to keep a YouTube channel like SAMIT busy.

Dominica dropped a knife while working in the kitchen this morning and cut her hand really badly.  We are worried that she will need to go get stitches.  We had to get her all bandaged up before I even got to my first coffee of the day.

Dominica has been experimenting with making her own vegetarian lunch meat, it has been really good.  Today for lunch it was lunch meat sandwiches.

Liesl played Skyrim today so I hung out with her for a bit while she was playing that.

Hanging Out with Luciana & Liesl

For dinner we ordered Chinese delivery from China One.  With her thumb cut up so badly, Dominica was not up for cooking anything today.

Dominica and I watched The Man with One Red Shoe which is from the early 1980s and I have never seen before.  It was actually completely awful.  Don’t ever watch that movie.

November 10, 2017: Snow in NY

Friday.  Lots of SAMIT videos being uploaded this morning.  My channel is very healthy and underway at this point.  I’m excited about how it is turning out.  Getting a lot of good responses about it.

The weather is nice here in Dallas today, but we hear that there is a lot of snow coming down back home in New York.

Updated my desktop to Deepin 15.5 today.  I’m really enjoying using Deepin, it’s been quite good.
