June 10, 2017: The Family Returns

Dominica and the girls are finally coming back home from Houston today. I had a very busy morning of posting and writing, and then as much cleaning as I could do to get the house in order before Dominica and the girls arrive.

Dominica and the girls got home late in the afternoon.  This evening the girls talked me into playing Playdoh with them in the dining room.  We’ve basically never all played with Playdoh together before, they always do this on their own.

All evening was just us all hanging out as a family. We’ve been apart for way too long.

June 9, 2017: Brian Visits

Still home alone without my family.  My friend Brian Littlejohn was up from the Odessa area to meet up with his dad to go to a race in town today, so while he was in the area he stopped by at the house and we hung out for a while.  Then we got lunch at Rockfish just up north in The Colony on Josey.

June 8, 2017: Spanish Television

Still home alone, really missing the family.  Three more days and they should be arriving back from Houston.

While the family is gone, I have been exploring a lot of Spanish movies and television series to help me work on my Spanish.  I’ve found a good Colombian series about a hypochondriac that is really good.

June 6, 2017: Winning at Quiz Night

Tuesday.  Normal day of working and writing from the house.

This evening I was selected to attend Quiz Night again instead of Dominica, since she is out of town in Houston.  We managed to come in third tonight.  Not a bad showing.  We are doing decently well in the overall standings now.

We are high enough that it looks like we will progress on to the big final event in New Orleans in late August.  The top five teams from each region get to go on to there.

It is very lonely here at home without the family.
