July 18, 2018: A Warmer House

Wednesday.  It’s another hot one today.  It is July, so that really never ends.

This morning it was scrambled cheesy eggs for breakfast.

I have adjusted to life in Texas, though.  I noticed that during the day, when it is just me around the house, I keep the house around eighty degrees.  If I set it lower, I start to feel a little cool at times!  That is something that I would never have expected to have happen.

No time for lunch today.

I watched a little of the Panama v Belgium game today.  Lots of exciting upsets and surprises in this year’s World Cup matches.

July 17, 2018: Too Busy

Tuesday.  Being back in Texas has me so busy, there is very little to report on.  I’m heads down and super busy.  So much to do.  I was busy in New York, but now that we are back, there is so much to get caught up on and just so much going on.

I went for a walk early this morning.  ML was quite quiet today.

My friend Dustin’s daughter Diana was born today.  Congratulations to him up in Rochester.

My evening was busy rolling on Windows 10 1803 releases to lots of machines.

July 15, 2018: Green Fedora

Sunday.  Got up, made coffee, and did some catch up work while in the office. There were some tickets that I could do easily, so I knocked out a few of those.  Might as well since I am around.

Liesl has been on a green fedora kick recently.  Every so often she breaks out this spangled green fedora that I got as a gift at VeeamOn last year and wears it around the house.  She is adorable in fedoras, but this one is pretty beat up.

After working this morning, I watched some Star Trek: Deep Space Nine which people have been telling me is good, but I remember trying to watch it in the 1990s when it first came out and it was pretty bad.  But I am told that if I really give it a try and get to the later seasons that things really improve.  So we will see.  It is pretty boring in the seasons I am in right now.

July 14, 2018: Making Slime and Playing Chess

It is a video gaming Saturday morning with my Liesl.  We are taking it easy today and spending family time together.  I’ve been missing my kids, a lot!

Luciana wanted to do science experiments and make slime at home today.  Dominica did slime with Liesl so she said that it was my turn to do it now.

I got her all suited up as there are some slightly caustic chemicals involved.  Dominica said that the chemicals really bothered her skin, even with light contact.  But we had extreme issues getting the slime to form (it turns out the glue was really, really old) and I had to have my hands in the chemicals for a good thirty minutes and it didn’t bother me at all.

We did a couple of batches because things did not turn out very well.  But in the end, we managed to make some slime.

Liesl and Luciana both wanted to play chess today.  We played quite a few games.  The girls are both getting much better at it.

So we just made it a family day of hanging out.  Luciana enjoyed playing with her slime for quite a while once we got it right.
