94 Days to Baby Day! (26 Weeks, Four Days Pregnant)

2 Days to Dominica’s 30th Birthday.  (Thursday!)

Today, sadly, the Grice’s had to put down Sadie, their spaniel.  They found her this morning more or less paralyzed.  She was only six years old.  Thet vet diagnosed her with three calcified discs in her back.  There was little to be done.

Sadie was a great dog.  A generally healthy, happy spaniel with big, loving brown eyes who was everyone’s instant friend.  She was sweet and loving and a friend of Oreo’s as well.  Sadie was Madeline and Emily’s little sister.  She will be very much missed.

I worked on Wall Street today.  Busy day, more or less.  Did a quick lunch of salad with the guys and then ate at my desk.

For afternoon tea, Katie and I met at the Financier Pattiserie and had iced coffees and gelatto.  The weather wasn’t too bad so we sat out on the street.  Katie took a picture – she is a foodie and likes to have pictures of her food experiences.

Iced Coffee and Gelatto with a side of Married Man

Financier has the best gelatto. Far better than anything I have ever had elsewhere. After our coffee and gelatto, Katie headed back to work and I went back in to pick out pastries to take home to Dominica.

The afternoon passed pretty quickly.  Taking a break to get afternoon tea helps to break up the day.  I only worked until a little after six which is not too bad.

I got home and we were talking about doing dinner with Ryan but Dominica had just heard about Sadie and had no appetite.  Being pregnant, the news was really rough on her.  I was sad but can distance myself from the situation enough to not make me too upset as there is nothing to be done.  No action that can help.  Dominica was extremely upset though and spent the evening just watching Netflix and The Love Boat in the hopes of finding distraction.  I spent most of the evening on the phone with Andy.

98 Days to Baby Day! (26 Weeks Pregnant)

I discovered some of my Newark pictures being used by Realtor.com today.  Also found some of my pictures over at WorldFlicksSongKick used my photo from a recent concert at the Knitting Factory for promotion on their website.  Squidoo, the Internet Who’s Who directory, used some of the pictures from my teenage trip to Prince Edward Island for their page on famed Canadian author L. M. Montgomery.  An Israeli site called Nana10 is using a pick as well but I can’t figure out for what.  A picture of Oreo shows up in a discussion on dog harnessesFinanza and Borse uses one too.

I was pretty tired when I got out of bed a little after six thirty this morning.  I am covering the morning shift for someone this morning who is have transportation issues.

It is not nearly as hot in the New York Metro today as it has been recently.  Today is actually a pretty nice day.  Rain was expected but only a drop or two threatened this morning and nothing came down until late in the afternoon.

My iPod died on my on my way into the office so I didn’t get a chance to listen to my book for very long.  I did think to bring a charging cable so that I could charge it back up at the office.

For lunch, Ronak and I walked down to Stone, just south of Hanover Square, and had the Friday specials at the Financier Patisserie.  The crab quiche and the salmon sandwiches are amazing.

Overall it was the expected end of a very slow week.  There was a bit more work today than the other days but not that much.  Definitely slow for a Friday.

At three thirty, Katie and I met back down at Financier for afternoon tea.  We had coffee and gelatto.

Evening was normal.  Worked until about seven in the office.  Then Ronak and I went to the Full Shilling for drinks and fried mac-n-cheese on the way home.

I got home around nine.  We ordered in dinner from Nino’s and watched the first half of Harry and the Hendersons which we just got this week on DVD from Amazon.  I haven’t seen that movie since probably around 1992 at the most recent.

We didnt’ finish the movie and went to bed as soon as we were tired.  My alarm is set for five fifty-five tomorrow morning and I have a long day of work ahead of me so I need some sleep.  This is going to be a very exhausting weekend.

I slept for approximately twelve hours last night.  Boy did I ever need that!  It wasn’t a straight twelve hours but it was a block of twelve hours of mostly sleep.  I got up several times during the night and a few times I was awake for a fairely long period of time.  At one point I even went out to the living room office and made sure that the computers were still busy doing Handbrake jobs.  But mostly I slept.

It was seven in the morning when I finally pulled myself out of bed.  I took my time getting ready for work taking a nice long shower to get myself back into “awake mode”.  I felt pretty good this morning.  Haven’t felt this good in two weeks.  That’s for sure.

I logged in from home to the office just long enough to get caught up and to make sure that no one needed anything from me that had queued up since I had gone to bed so early last night.  There wasn’t much to do, though, so I was able to head right on into the city.

It was raining as I went in which didn’t make me happy.  I am getting tired of being wet at the office.

Today was a rather slow day which was nice considering that everything else in my life is slowing down today.  At two in the afternoon a few of the guys from the office took a walk down to Stone to check out the Financier Pattiserie that Susan had told me about last week.  Even that late in the afternoon the place was just packed with people.  We got coffee (cafe Americano) and headed back to the office.  I got a “to-go” box full of awesome looking pastry items to take home to Dominica.  So tonight we will see how their food is.  It all looked really amazing.

Since the day was pretty slow and because I had managed to do the big evening deployments around five I took off for home at five thirty.  Winni called to say that he and Ulf couldn’t make it down to hang out this evening.  That is probably best as Dominica and I really need to spend the evening getting ready for traveling tomorrow.

We had vegetarian BLTs and pastries for dinner and watched the final episode of the first volume of the first season of The Love Boat.  Dominica did laundry and packing to get ready for the morning.  We have to be up extra early tomorrow so that we can get the car packed and get onto the road for work.  I am working out of Warren tomorrow so Min will drop me off at the train station on her way to work and will them swing out to Warren to pick me up as we head towards dad’s house in the evening.  We might be making a pit stop in Binghamton to do some computer exchanges as we pass through.  We won’t know that until tomorrow.

We finally got to bed around midnight.  We were pretty tired.  Dominica really did a ton of work tonight.

Oreo made me take him for a walk just before going to bed and then got me up at three in the morning to walk him again.  Tomorrow is going to be a long day after so little sleep.  Hopefully I can do some catchup this weekend.
