Today Andy and I went down to work with Autoworks in Varna. It ended up being an all day affair. But we got a lot of work done. Nothing much to tell, since, all day was spent working down there.

I wrote a very lengthy email today that described exactly why our driver shouldn’t be employed with us any longer. It was very eloquent and did its job well. New driver replacing him started this afternoon.

Finally, my last day in DC. I had been really hoping to be able to get the heck out of here early today but there was just too much work to do so I ended up staying until 10:30pm before driving back to NY. What a long trip that is so late at night. And of course, after waiting all that time and working on so many things, the driver of the truck decided to just not bother to upload his data after I wasn’t there to fire him on the spot. But that is for tomorrow.

I arrived back in Ithaca around 5:00 am and boy was I tired. I went straight to bed. I did manage to listen to the ending of “Life, the Universe and Everything” and all but twenty minutes of “So Long and Thanks for All the Fish” which is book four of the Hitchhiker’s Trilogy (yes, book 4 of 3!) Only two more books to go now.

Today was supposed to have been my last day working in DC but, of course, that didn’t happen. I ended up putting in a long day at the office and going out to the Comfort Inn in Annapolis again to spend the night so that I can finish up what needs to be done tomorrow. Nothing exciting happening today other than a lot of Brainbench tests being racked up. I have had a lot of spare time in the office to get to those and I will probably get at very least a handful more of them next week too. Being alone in the office all evening can make one really bored.

Happy Birthday Leanne!

Finally, it is Sunday. My last day working in DC until next week (next week meaning about 2-3 days from now.) Dominica has been staying at her parent’s house in Frankfort and should be heading home tonight as well.

Well, we weren’t able to get as much work done in DC today as we had hoped. Quite a few roadblocks popped up, but nothing that we couldn’t handle.

Ok, change of plans today. I am going to stay in DC tonight and head back to Ithaca tomorrow. We are on a tight deadline here and I need to get as much done here as possible. It is a big relief that we didn’t end up having to move this weekend. That would have been really terrible.

I did manage to find some nice, free, CD Burning Software for Windows called CDBurnerXP Pro. I have been using it and it is pretty good. Unfortunately, it isn’t open source but it is free for personal, non-commercial use so it is better than most anything else that I have tried to use.

It is another long night at the hospital tonight. I will be staying at the Comfort Inn at Bay Dale in Annapolis again. I am beginning to think of that place as home. This will be my third week having stayed there. I will be there at least once a week for a month. Much like my time staying in Schenectady earlier this year. Typical.

Today, because of the computer being stolen last night, I did not have to go into the office. Instead, John and I started out the day by going to Best Buy and picking up a Hewlett-Packard Pavilion ze1420 laptop (Athlon XP 2200+ 256MB 40GB.) We got a good deal on it, even though it is a poor consumer grade model, and it will likely suit our purposes just fine. I am impressed by the snazzy new look that HP is using on their laptops, lots of lights all in blue and green (it is obvious that they are going after Apple who has been adding tons of non-essentially lights to their laptops to make them seem more powerful.) We got the laptop back the house and I spent a couple of hours working on it to get it ready to go onto the truck tomorrow. We needed a cable, though, so I couldn’t finish the computer in the morning. At 2:00, John, Michelle, Kit, the girls and I went to see Finding Nemo at the Annapolis Mall. This was my second time seeing it but it still held up as a good movie. I am really looking forward to seeing “Johnny English”, though, with Rowan Atkinson.

After the movie, we returned to the house and I finished setting up the laptop for tomorrow so that it can be mounted onto the truck. It will provide great peace of mind to all of us to have the laptop actually locked down on the truck instead of just sitting in there.

After doing some work, John grilled dinner out on the back deck and we ate outside. After dinner, I worked on the laptop some more while Michelle and I watched Three’s Company. Then later, John and I watched some of Father Ted: Series II.
