Saturday. The leak in the yard is still going on. In fact, it’s still going on nine months later in September (written in the future) when I am posting this. I’m pretty sure that this has been going on for years and is why the pillars were collapsing.
Today we started binging Star Trek Discovery that we got access to last night. We are a bit behind on that as it has been out for a while. So we had a bit to catch up on.
We were talking about going out dancing tonight, but by the end of the night Rachel was too tired after she played D&D this morning and bartended this evening.
Dominica and I watched The Layover and more of Letterkenny.
Friday. Up very early to do a large telephone roll out in Plano, Texas. A busy, but very good day. Paul went with me and we had a very smooth day.
Rachel and Forest came over around five thirty and we all watched some of the first season of Letterkenny which is a pretty funny Canadian sitcom that takes place not all that far from where I grew up near the Canadian border. Forest is really into the show and has been trying to convince all of us to watch it for a while.
Dominica and I watched a movie this evening after Rachel and Forest left. Rachel then came over later and we watched the first episode of Picard which just released last night on CBS. We paid for CBS All Access to get that and Star Trek Discovery.
Rachel and I stayed up after our Star Trek showing and watched more of Coupling. We are nearly to the end of season three.
Still super busy at work, mostly because so many people are out sick for one reason or another. We are so busy that Paul has been working the helpdesk much of the week.
Paul and I had a meeting in south Dallas today which went quite well. Got Impossible Burgers from Burger King on the way home.
Played hidden object games with Liesl and Luciana tonight while Paul and Dominica were out shooting pool at their league event.
I am installing telephones at a customer site tomorrow early morning so went to bed early tonight.
Huge day for Jeremy and I with our big Vetastic project that we’ve been working on for the last several months. Technically, in some ways, we’ve been working for four or five years on this, but only officially given the full green light several months ago. Almost exactly twenty years after Waste Watcher went into production in 2000! Cool milestone, for sure.
We are, of course, super busy because of the work going on today. Worked until ten after one in the morning before going to bed.
Tuesday. Another busy day, no rest for the weary. I got up to a bright morning, but it is expected to rain and possibly snow tonight. A storm is pushing in from the west.
I got right to work this morning. No chance to go anywhere today. I got in to my desk, and it was a full day of work, work, work, for me.
It was, overall, a good day. We did our first real pitch of Vetastic this afternoon. That was very exciting, and took over two hours! Hard to believe that just showing it off and talking about it would eat up the whole afternoon. But it did, really quickly. The whole thing went really well. The pitch is to a hospital here in Texas and they were actually so impressed that they are presenting it to the board to consider for immediate deployment! It’s a huge long shot and we totally understand that there is no realistic chance that it is going to get selected. But the fact that we were able to put on a two hour demo, show a fifteen thousand dollar cost savings to the clinic to happen immediately, and have them actually be willing to take it to the board for further consideration is effectively a slam dunk at this stage in our process. We are very excited.
About four hours of my day was spent on the phone with a customer in Utah who has been hacked, or at least believes that they have been, and needed walked through many different aspects of what was happening. But after all was said and done, we aren’t sure if she didn’t imagine or make up the entire set of events. It’s been going on for nearly a week, and the story is never consistent nor does it make sense. She will tell a very detailed story over and over again, then explain that none of it happened and she made all of that part up. So weird.
I got stuck working super late tonight. Till way after three. But I was making great progress and I got a chance to work
